The Leaning Post Ranch (LPR) is a project of Panhandle Youth Assistance Program, Inc.
(PYAPI), a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization licensed by the state of Florida as a
prevention program.
The Leaning Post Ranch began in 1992
with one gang member and one horse. After several
successes with at-risk youth the outreach program
expanded to provide therapeutic riding for disabled
individuals, to include the mentally, cognitive, and/
or physically challenged. Continual growth of the
program resulted in seven moves, until 2001, when
the current 40-acre property was acquired in Molino.
This location, formerly a stagecoach stop, includes a
small farmhouse, a 100 year-old barn, and traces of
the stagecoach road dating back to 1806.
The Leaning Post Ranch is a Professional
Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship,
International (PATH) Premier Accredited Center.
Our facility adheres to PATH standards for safety
and high quality service. Our therapy horses are
gentle, intelligent animals that provide unconditional
compassion to our riders.
MISSION STATEMENT: To provide equine assisted activites and therapeutic riding to
individuals with disabilities and at-risk youth in Northwest Florida.
We offer health, hope and healing through horses.
With the help of Wordwalk there has been a lot of recent growth at the ranch...including the construction of a new Tool Shed and Pole Barn.
